Whights Corner CCTV Monitoring Operational

16 October 2024

Residents will be aware from previous communications that the Parish Council has been working with residents of Whights Corner, BMSDC and Suffolk Police to address ongoing problems with anti-social behaviour, dangerous driving and other vehicular offences. The Parish Council is pleased to confirm that a 3 month trial of CCTV monitoring of the area is now operational and expresses its thanks to Peter Watson, Community Safety Officer at Babergh District Council for his support in securing funding for this. It is hoped that this initiative will prove to be useful both as a deterrent and also as a mechanism for gathering evidence that can lead to successful enforcement. Residents should continue to report instances of dangerous driving etc. to the Police by telephoning '999', as they happen.
