Parish Council
The Parish Council is pleased to advise residents that new gates will shortly be installed on many of the PRoW footpaths around the village.
The stockproof gates will replace stiles mainly on the Washbrook side of the village as this is where the majority of stiles are, many of which are in a poor state, are awkward to traverse and no longer meet current safety and accessibility standards.
The work should be completed by the end of next month and the Council has been delighted to once again secure the services of Matt Green to do the work on behalf of us all.
One resident has come forward with an offer to sponsor/donate two of the new gates in memory of much loved family members. Councillors were very pleased to accept this offer and wish to make it available to all residents in the village. Residents can purchase a gate and have an inscribed plaque with wording of their choice fixed to it. Any residents wishing to explore this further should contact Sue Frankis at clerk@copdockandwashbrook.org or on 07849 055699.
We are grateful to the relevant landowners for their support and cooperation on this as well as the PRoW team at Suffolk County Council who have made a contribution to the cost.
We hope this improves the ability of residents to access and enjoy the beautiful countryside surrounding our village and know that everyone will respect the land they cross, maintain livestock security and keep their dogs firmly under control at all times.
