Residents will recall that the Parish Council survey on this matter revealed 80% of respondents in support of such a measure and we have since that time been pursuing an application for a 20mph limit throughout the village interior via Suffolk County Council.

We are pleased to advise that, after a very lengthy consultation and legal process, the necessary Traffic Regulation Order has been approved and the procurement process to undertake the work required commenced. Implementation is expected during the first quarter of 2027.

The Parish Council believes this will be an important measure in our ongoing efforts to reduce vehicle speed within the village, especially around School Hill and along narrow and pavement-less Elm and Back Lanes.
