Parish Council
National Highways has provided an update on the ongoing work along the A14 between Junction 52 (Claydon) and Junction 55 (Copdock Interchange).
Progress and upcoming schedule
The westbound carriageway work is now scheduled for completion by Friday 22 November. Following this, they will resume overnight closures of the eastbound carriageway for approximately three weeks on weeknights only starting from Monday 25 November through to Saturday 14 December between 8pm and 6am, weather permitting.
Closures and diversions
To carry out the work safely, the A14 between junction 52 (Claydon) and 55 (Copdock Interchange) will need to be closed, and traffic diverted as follows:
Additional measures
Following feedback from residents, when full closures are required on the A14 eastbound carriageway, a road closure will be implemented at Paper Mill Lane to prevent unsuitable vehicles using this as a cut through. Access to the Premier Inn will still be available.
National Highways are committed to minimising disruption for residents along the diversion route and will continue monitoring traffic on the B1113. They are working closely with local representatives to address any concerns and implement mitigation measures where possible
A map of the closure and diversion can be viewed.
