Residents will be aware that this has been identified by Suffolk County Council (SCC) as a high priority route for walking and cycling and has received funding from Active Travel England for an initial design.

The purpose of this update is to draw attention to the consultation process which starts today. The consultation window will run until the 20th December and will include...

• online materials including route maps and visuals together with a survey which can be viewed at https://arcg.is/0XHjSW
• a press release
• leaflets to all households in Copdock and Washbrook to be distributed at the end of this week or early next
• a drop-in session at the Village Hall on Friday 6th December, 2.30pm to 6.45pm.

The Parish Council wishes to emphasise again that this is a SCC led scheme and it is they that will decide whether a scheme goes ahead and in what form. Whilst we as the Parish Council are supportive in principle of attempts to both reduce speed and improve road safety along the Old London Road, our primary concern at this stage is that EVERYONE is given the opportunity to have their say on this potential scheme so that whatever way forward identified by SCC is informed by the views of our community as a whole. Following the consultation, the design will be finalised and SCC will then need to look for sources of funding to build the scheme.
