Parish Council
The Parish Council is grateful to those residents who have offered their time in support of this scheme and, now that training has been completed by PC Guy Ainsworth, residents can expect to see the team active within the village over the coming weeks and beyond.
The prime objective of this scheme is to act as a visible deterrent to excessive speed within the village interior and to encourage drivers to be more aware of their speed within built up areas. It was very noticeable during our training how effective a high visibility jacket or two can be in this regard! We hope that no vehicle breaches the speed limit but where this does occur, details are passed to Suffolk Police who issue warning letters or arrange a personal visit for persistent offenders.
For those residents who have expressed an interest previously or got part way through the joining process, please do get in touch with the Parish Clerk, Sue Frankis ( clerk@copdockandwashbrook.org), as the bigger the pool of volunteers we have, the more we can share the work and maintain momentum. There is no pressure or minimum requirement time wise, it is entirely down to us to decide the frequency and timing of sessions around the team's availability.
We know that excessive speed is a major concern to many so please do respect and support those volunteering to improve road safety on behalf of everyone in the community.
